WebDOCK Security
Keeping your documents safe is one of our primary concerns. While we can't divulge every security measure that we have in place, we can share with you some of the more common methods that you would expect from a document management application service provider (ASP).
| |
128-bit Encryption |
WebDOCK uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with 128-bit encryption. This powerful technology protects your data from being seen by unwanted eyes.
| |
Firewalling Technology |
All WebDOCK servers are placed behind powerful firewall technology configured to provide minimum access and maximum protection. In addition, powerful port scanning tools are in place to make sure that these measures are always operating at maximum efficiency.
| |
Advanced Logging |
Our advanced logging system monitors and records every action taken within WebDOCK. This system not only allows our users to see how they are benefitting from WebDOCK, but it also helps us quickly identify when would-be hackers are trying to subvert security measures. In addition to denying access to the potential offender, WebDOCK security personnel are notified and an investigation begins immediately.
| |
Session Timeout |
WebDOCK sessions expire after 15 minutes of inactivity. This ensures that licenses are kept available and that user sessions are not left idle for an unauthorized person to begin using.
| |
Strict Password Rules |
Strict password conventions are exercised, preventing users from choosing common or easy words to figure out.
| |
Staff Accountability |
WebDOCK personnel can, at no
time, see customer data. There are times when our support
staff will need to log into a user's account as that
user in order to help them with a problem. When this
is neccessary, WebDOCK personnel will login through
a special tool that will allow them limited access to
client data. This means that while WebDOCK support is
able to navigate a client's storage space, they are
never allowed to actually view the client's documents.
Likewise, WebDOCK personnel will never need to know
a client's password. It is also important to note that
these events are logged and reported to the client so
they are aware of each time WebDOCK personnel entered
their storage space. We feel that this increases the
trust level of our clients and makes for a much more
secure environment.

Summary |
As you can see, we are serious about
security. Redundant hardware and nightly backs are also
ways that we protect our client's data. Providing a
secure storage system is a must and we are constantly
looking for new and innovative ways to do just that.

security, please feel free to contact our Security
Team directly.
